How to store food on long car ride?

We’re going on a trip by car and we’ll be bringing food to cook there. The car ride plus before the food can reach a fridge would be around 6 – 7 hours. Food we’re bringing are sirloin beef, and chopped veggies, like peppers, carrots, tomatoes, sealed in zip lock bags. Is putting them all in a cooler the best way to store them in the trunk of a car?

Its a long ride. What I usually do is pack all the food in Tupperware type containers. Plastic bags are good, but the plastic containers wrapped in plastic bags is better. Load the container and pour ice over all. store in the trunk. Check after a few hours, depending on the temperature outside the cooler you may have to replace the ice. Drain out the water, and buy ice at a gas station or pull into a hotel and take ice from the machine. We would pack food for a 18 hour trip to Florida from NY. This is how we did it.
